Your on windows right?

Do you see the openvpn icon on your status bar?

Image is taken from this tutorial: http://www.vpntutorials.com/tutorials/openvpn-client-setup-tutorial-for-windows-8/

Just right click on the icon to choose your server and then it will ask for your username and password.

Their servers are probably only routing traffic from the VPN client to the Internet. If that is the case then there is no way you can bypass that.

Do they also have a VPN client for your smarthpone? If their VPN client is using PPTP or OpenVPN chances are you can use 3rd party clients on your smartphone and even on your PC to connect to their VPN servers.

Maybe you can post the Elmnet client here so we can check if there is a way to bypass it.

thank you for the answer.

i also have another question:

is the tcp port 3333 blocked on your servers?

this is the default port used by many bitcoin mining pools for their Stratum servers.

Unfortunate yes, that port was blocked due to previous abuse report we received. We will update our servers soon and open that port.

Best regards,

VPN Discussion / Re: Speed Problem in Softether clients
« on: May 26, 2013, 02:41:35 AM »
What country is the server hosted? Have you run speed tests on your clients when they are not connected?

I believe the problem here is really the Internet connection in Iran and not the Softether server. Last year someone told me that connections outside Iran were being throttled so if you are connecting to your VPN that is hosted outside Iran then it would definitely be slow. That is before the election and before they clamped down on VPN usage.

Just imagine how much slower it would become when they started blocking VPNs. One possible reason of the slow down is if they are using Deep Packet Inspection because that means every packet needs to be inspected.

A network supervisor at a major Internet service provider in Tehran said his company had been unable to address complaints about slower speeds, particularly accessing pages using the HTTPS secure communications protocol.

"Browsing (the net) is difficult due to the low speed. Even checking emails is a pain," he said.

"Sometimes, loading a secure Google page takes a few long seconds," he added.

There are instances where that actually works.

Some ISPs only counts the data you send on certain ports mainly port 80,443 and smtp ports. If you connect your vpn to a different port not normally associated with any service or a service that they do not monitor then you can get free internet.

Again this only works on certain Internet service providers.

VPN Client Setup Support / Re: Bypass VPN for torrent client traffic
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:16:04 AM »
A VPN normally routes all your traffic to the tunnel or it will not route at all. Its a simple case of route everything or route nothing.

But there is actually a way to bypass the VPN by altering your routing table. This method works if you know the destination IP address.

For example you want to visit a website without going through the vpn tunnel. All you have to do is get the IP address of the website and add an entry to your routing table that tells your system that it should route all traffic to the website's IP address to your ISPs gateway and not your VPN.

In windows you can do it like this

Code: [Select]
route add ip.of.website mask 255.255.255.255 default.gateway.ip.of.your.connection
Of course the solution above only works if you already know what IP address you are going to connect to. This is not the best solution if you want uTorrent to bypass the VPN since there are a lot of IPs(Trackers,Peers) you need to add to the routing table.

Maybe a web/http proxy is more suitable for your needs since you are probably going to use the vpn for browsing only.

Use UDP or ICMP. TCP is really slow on unstable network.

Is my account considered terminated? if yes, then what should i do, should i subscribe again to have another 30 days of access and my 25 days left would reset to 0?
This should explain your problem: http://www.pdproxy.com/knowledgebase/why-am-i-getting-a-bandwidth-limit-reached-message-on-the-gaming-server-23.htm

PD-Proxy VPN / Re: safety of password in pd proxy
« on: March 28, 2013, 11:43:31 PM »
If your password is very simple like "1234" then someone can easily guess your password provided that they also know your username. The problem here is not about PD-Proxy it is about users using unsecure passwords.

But if you use a more complex password then guessing your password would be close to impossible.

Off Topic / Before Wikileaks, there was Cryptome!
« on: March 21, 2013, 11:22:15 PM »
Have you ever heard of Cryptome?

Before there was Wikileaks, there was Cryptome, online since 1996 publishing government documents from around the world. Stubbornly clinging to a web design that looked old-fashioned in 1996, Cryptome especially features documents about the CIA. It also posts declassified historical documents, and is a great resource for researchers and historians.

Cryptome proudly asserts:

Quote
Cryptome welcomes documents for publication that are prohibited by governments worldwide, in particular material on freedom of expression, privacy, cryptology, dual-use technologies, national security, intelligence, and secret governance — open, secret and classified documents — but not limited to those. Documents are removed from this site only by order served directly by a US court having jurisdiction. No court order has ever been served; any order served will be published here — or elsewhere if gagged by order. Bluffs will be published if comical but otherwise ignored.
