Off Topic / "Connection not private " error on Google Chrome
« on: November 10, 2020, 12:03:24 PM »
Since Google updated Chrome to their latest version , I'm getting the following error on my clients machines (that are connected to the Web Appliance)  on their browser :

ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
I have disabled HTTPS scanning on the Appliance but am not interested in keeping it that way! I'm aware that Sophos has released a fix for the UTM but not sure if it has solved the problem.

Will there be an update for the Web Appliance?

Thanks for any reply

UPDATE - issue got solvedd

Off Topic / Chromebook Vs. Laptop of same value
« on: September 30, 2020, 12:42:13 PM »
I know discussions like this one probably get old in this subreddit but I was wondering if a laptop around a $300-$500 price range such as the Acer E15 would be a better option than a chromebook such as the Acer Flip C302 or a cheaper Acer that has the flip/tablet ability?

I've done my research and I understand Chromebooks aren't for gaming or video editing and that they have different aspects that cater towards people who don't need 3rd party software. I fall into this category, I don't use laptops for gaming (other than OSRS, hell yeah) and don't really use it other than for school. Would the Acer E15 be a waste of money for me when what I will use my laptop for will be good enough on the Chromebook? I just don't want to get another laptop that is poorly made such as the one I am writing on, the ole HP Envy m6.

Off Topic / Why is Telstra working on 5G and not the NBN?
« on: September 30, 2020, 10:23:08 AM »
We have the 6th highest mobile data speeds in the world, but for overall internet speeds, we are 50th. To me, it's pretty clear what people should be working on improving. Why the hell are we working on our 5g network, when our NBN is absolute crap?

VPN Discussion / google geolocation
« on: September 09, 2020, 01:08:06 PM »
Hello,

Hope someone can help me with this problem. I am using a VPN provider that is based in NL and when I use google.com or .co.uk  it always shows me search results from NL. I live in the UK and I want see pages from the UK. In the VPN client I can select the UK as country location for the servers but it still does not work as the network has been recognized as being from NL I have tried with Chrome, Edge and Firefox and get the same issue. I have read that google has disabled the option to select the location and it will always redirect to pages of the country where your IP is registered (that is NL for me when I use the VPN), Is there a way to avoid this silly geolocation?

Many thanks, cbd bud for sale cheap

VPN Discussion / Nord VPN
« on: August 24, 2020, 04:39:10 AM »
Hello everyone,,
I had NordVPN working for the past 6 months and all was well. One day it stopped working. I contacted them by online chat which is the only way to contact them and after 12 accumulative hours and 6 different technicians..., 5 hours just today (and three different technicians) and they are no closer to getting me connected requested an advanced technician to contact me but they only communicate through email! So after wasting that 12 hours, my doing what looks like a programmers job and they're not succeeding yet they want to slow down the process even more by responding with email! Is this a joke? how pompous can you be? That will take weeks! Such blatent abuse of power. Nord VPN technical assistance is the worst I've ever dealt with. Good luck to you boys. aud to usd

VPN Discussion / Best place to buy decent bedroom furniture?
« on: December 17, 2019, 03:41:38 AM »
Hello everyone,,
I'm looking for ideas on where to buy affordable bedroom furniture for a 30-something year old guy.

Ikea seems pretty cheap (unless maybe I go with their solid pine Hemnes or other lines), so I'm a bit hesitant to get something crappy.

Solid wood furniture though seems to cost 5x as much.
bedroom sets
If you were going to pick up a queen bed frame, chest of drawers, and dresser, maybe a nightstand, where would you look, and what would you expect to pay.

I have access to costco as necessary, but their sets were even in the $2k+ range which I'm not sure I want to do since I'm renting.

VPN Discussion / ISP THINKS I AM SENDING AUTOMATED TRAFFIC!!!
« on: December 03, 2019, 10:58:15 PM »
I purchased Hotspotsheild elite and started using it setting my address as from Germany, Usa etc. Then my ISP messaged me saying that they suspected that my IP adds was suspected of sending automated traffic and disallowed me access to net. Was ok after I deleted VPN. I thought this type of VPN hid https://tradevenue.se my IP adds.
Anyone know what why this happened?

Cheers

Hello everyone,,
Just re-watched Justice League and I'm left puzzled as to why this film got so much hate, particularly from critics. How in the hell it deserved 40% on Rotten but Avengers: Age of Ultron rated 75% is beyond me (not that I think A:AoU is a bad film, it just feels very comparable in overall quality). I definitely enjoyed this film much more than X-Mean Apocalypse, which somehow scored 48% from critics?

Justice League is definitely not without problems. There are a few scenes that could have been shot differently or relied less on expository dialogue. Likewise, the overall plot of the movie could have used a little tweaking - the choice of Steppenwolf as the antagonist was a little odd, but it could have been helped tremendously if we had gotten to see some Darkseid playing puppet master in the background - or at least just some more background beyond "he's a hulking brute who wants to destroy Earth."

That being said, this is a super-hero movie and it delivers exactly what you expect from a comic-book blockbuster. Overall the acting is on-point and there is a lot of good chemistry between the heroes - Ezra Miller was exceptionally good as The Flash, Gal Gadot killing it as Wonder Woman. Momoa 123movies manages to make Aquaman an actual interesting character. Fisher, Affleck, and Cavill do a great job too.

It's sad that we may never see another Justice League movie with this crew due to the negative reaction to the first one and the future of the DC universe already seems to be in doubt with multiple directors bailing and Ben Affleck apparently done as Batman.

I feel like Justice League got a lot of undeserved flak. A handful of key thought leaders decided that they were going to hate it no matter what and a bunch of other people jumped on the bandwagon.

Thoughts?

VPN Discussion / BEST VPN FOR ME
« on: October 23, 2019, 12:46:48 AM »
Hello everyone,,,
I have been with Astrill for 12 months and it has just expired so thought I would look around for what best suits me. It's a bit of a minefield to be honest and was hoping I could get some guidance here.

I live in the UK and have been using a VPN mainly for downloading tv series' I also subscribe to the NBA and NFL as if I am in Spain as for some reason it is much cheaper. I have just got an apartment in the Canaries and would like to watch AtTheRaces and RacingUK as if I was in the UK. My subscription is restricted for use dry mil gauge

Astrill on the whole was good although I did sign up with a 30% discount and now they offered me zero to renew so would have cost $70 for the year. I set it up on my iphone and the US version worked at first the UK didn't and after a few months neither worked, although that wasn't important.

Is Astrill my best bet at $70 or do you recommend something better?

All the reviews seem to be from people in China and I am hoping someone on here can give me some advice from a UK perspective.

Thanks

VPN Discussion / Looking for marine forecast weather plugin suggestions
« on: October 01, 2019, 02:13:49 PM »
Hello everyone,,
I'm looking for a fairly simple/free plugin that is not heavily bannered with Ads/Popups. I've tried a couple (accuweather)(weather) but they are just too best marine weather station bloated. I would like a simple map/extended NOAA forecast. I've searched here and have found others with the same question but no good answers.

Thanks
