Can VPN be installed in Rooter?
« on: December 25, 2013, 05:42:04 PM »
Since I want to use the VPN on my computer, tablet or smartphone at the same time, but most VPN provider don't allow to do this.    I am just wondering whether I can install the VPN on the rooter, so that I can connect it with any device?

Yes you can do that if you are using openvpn and a DD-WRT router.

Hi,

Yes, it most certainly can.

However, there are many VPN providers that allow you to use the service on multiple (some unlimited) devices. I'm not sure if you already have something in mind, but if I were you, I'd look for a provider that allows me to use more devices than just the router.

You can read this article here(https://windowsreport.com/vpn-multiple-devices/) and get your opinion. For me, using a VPN on a router would be limited. As I quite often travel and need a VPN protection out of my home. So, personally, I would choose a provider that allows me to use the service everywhere and on any device I want.

Hope it helps. Let me know what do you decide.
Cheers bro
