I am using VPNBook OpenVPN servers

I connected to their servers using this command

Code: [Select]
sudo openvpn --config /etc/openvpn/vpnbook-udp-53.ovpn --auth-user-pass /etc/openvpn/password.txt
Now how can I stop the vpn connection without rebooting the my computer?

What are the differences between a site-to-site VPN and a VPN client connecting to a VPN server? What protocols are used for these?

VPN Discussion / Torrent IP not detected when using a VPN?
« on: March 05, 2013, 09:56:09 PM »
I'm currently using a paid VPN service for my personal machine.

When I go to test my torrent IP on this site (http://checkmytorrentip.com/),  it states that "Your torrent IP has not been detected yet.".

Does anyone know why this is occurring/does this mean that the VPN isn't working?

Is there an OpenVPN client that doesnt need admin rights?

Is there a portable app for setting up OpenVPN?

Can it be done without changing/installing the computer you are plugged into?

VPN Discussion / What is VPN actually used for?

I've never really understood why VPNs are used. I know it stands for Virtual Private Network, but in simple terms how does it work and what is it used for?
