VPN Discussion / Re: Is traffic exiting a VPN node encrypted?
« on: December 10, 2012, 11:25:51 PM »
In reference to the encryption a VPN provides, it is only valid in the tunnel it creates. So once the traffic leaves the tunnel, it is no longer encrypted by the VPN.

You need to update the version of your tap driver. Just uninstall openvpn and install the latest version here: http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html

Or try this: http://www.pdproxy.com/knowledgebase/how-to-reinstall-the-win32-tap-driver-of-pd-proxy-6.htm

VPN Client Setup Support / Re: How to remove privitize VPN completely?
« on: December 06, 2012, 01:08:57 AM »
Just change the default search engine of your chrome browser to your preferred search engine and then delete the search engine privitizevpn added.

1. Open chrome settings by visiting this URL : chrome://chrome/settings/

2. A new tab is opening. On your left you have 3 tabs. History, extensions and Settings. Go to Settings.

3. Look for search category. There you can set your default search machine. Just change it from privitize to Google or what ever you like.

More info on PrivitizeVPN

I found a solution from the web

There are two steps to the following solution. If the first

To resolve this error, do the following:

    1. Make sure the Cisco VPN client installer is closed before you begin.
    2. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories
    3. Right-click on Command Prompt in the Accessories section of the Start Menu and select Run as Administrator.
    4. Type cd C:\Windows\System32 and then press Enter.
    5. Type regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\vbscript.dll and then press Enter.
    6. You will receive a message that says, "DLLRegisterServer in C:\Windows\System32\vbscript.dll succeeded." Click OK.
    7. Keep the command prompt window open for now.

You can close this window once you're able to install Cisco VPN client. If the steps above did not resolve the error, you will use the command prompt window in the instructions below.

You should now attempt to install Cisco VPN client. If you get the same error as before, proceed with the instructions below.

Second step

Important: These instructions require you to edit the registry. Do not follow these instructions unless you are confident that you know what you're doing. It is recommended that you make a registry backup prior to editing the registry.

    1. Click Start and type regedit in the box.
    2. Browse to the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\
    3. Locate and delete the registry key named {B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}.
We recommend making a backup of this registry key before deleting it.
    4. Close the registry editor.
    5. Go back to the command prompt window you used in the instructions above.
If you closed this window, follow steps 1 - 4 above to open the command prompt window using the Run as Administrator option and navigate to the C:\Windows\System32 directory.
    6. Within the C:\Windows\System32 directory, type regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\vbscript.dll and then press Enter.
    7. You will receive a message that says, "DLLRegisterServer in C:\Windows\System32\vbscript.dll succeeded." Click OK.
    8. Close the command prompt window.

You can now install Cisco VPN client.

Yes, you are correct. The traffic from your server to the internet is no longer encrypted. Your ISP would see the traffic as if it is coming from your home even if you are using the vpn from your laptop away from home. Your best option is to use a paid vpn service or rent a vps or dedicated server to host your vpn server.

Yup that would be enough. As long as the VPN server is configured correctly you can access the website from your android tablet.

Do you want to install a vpn server on all those locations or you just just want to secure your tightvnc connection ?

If you just want to secure your tightvnc connection then you just need a personal vpn account. The vpn provider will give you the ovpn files and keys.

If you just want to hide what you are downloading from your ISP then most of the VPN providers out there can help you.

I would recommend HideMyAss VPN, Express VPN or Strong VPN.

A vps is enough for a VPN server if its just for personal use.

You can find cheap vps servers on this website: http://lowendbox.com
